Johanna Urschel is an American British photographer and artist living in London, UK.  She was born in San Diego, California and studied at Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia, PA where she graduated with honours in 2007.  She studied sculpture and art history for her undergraduate degree before moving to London 2008.  In 2011 she returned to photography with a focus on portraiture. She has been featured in National Geographic’s Your Shot 3 times as well as being selected by Apple as the Face of Family Photography in 2020 where she gave a worldwide keynote speech. She received a Master’s degree in documentary photography and photo journalism at the University of Westminster in 2022.
